have a '05 F150 without cruise control. i can get a "kit" (steering wheel with the buttons). i was told the truck is already set for cruise, that i need the dealer to "turn it on" once i install the wheel. is there anything under the hood that needs to be done? i'm told there isn't. TIA

 

I just did mine this past weekend. You don't need a kit. Go on Ebay and buy a steering wheel with the cruise buttons. Once you install the wheel, take the truck to the dealer. They will need to hook it up to the computer and activate the cruise. I paid $60.00 for a brand new wheel with the buttons and paid the dealer $74.00 to activate it. WORKS GREAT! Good luck.

 

thanks for the reply. i'll keep checking ebay from time to time. the dealer has a list price of 167 for the wheel. don't know what my dealer would charge to turn it on.

 

I wish ya could do that with heated seats or mirror defroster
