'03 with 44,000 miles. Here in Socal, temp. in the AM dipped into the 50's about
2 months ago. Longer crank to start. We'll keep an eye on it. CEL at start also.
This would come and go. Never warm or hot start problem. OK, get to work and
start reading all this great stuff. Lots of good info on this site and others.
Other observations: "0" driveability problems, no mising or rough idle, white
smoke on start as it got colder, longer crank time as it got colder. So, my
great deductive reasoning powers came into play. Try replacing the GPCM!
Bought it. Five minute replacemet. Voila, solved my problem. In the 30's this morning,
started like right up. Hope my experience may help someone.
The main reason I'm happy is I still have original tow/haul and I'm positive
a flash was in my future had I gone to dealer.
Can you tell more about the GPCM(cost, where located). My truck runs like a champ with 50k on the O.D. but On cold mornings I must cycle the glow plugs a few times.
I bought from local dealer. Cost 238.50 incl. tax. With my limited knowledge I know I was taking a chance. Electrical parts non returnable. But, I did'nt have to pay $100.00
deductible, and as stated, saved my tow/haul. I've never won a thing.
