Hi Guys, the last time I posted a question, you were really helpful,so here's another one.The power steering get's a little hard at different times. It may go a week or two without any problems and then for a short time, it will get hard for a short time and then return to normal. No noise, the fluid is full,no leaks. The fluid has never been changed,75,000 miles. Is something going bad or sticking, should I change the fluid? Ford F-250,02,4x4,crewcab,7.3 diesel. Thanks for any comments and keep up the good work on a great forum.

Does it get hard at times when you are at or close to idle? Mine, unless over 1300 or so RPM doesn't like to turn either unless it is already moving pretty good. i.e. backing up the trailer, it is a lot harder to turn. I wonder if a guy could get a smaller pulley to put on the power steering pump?

If I did this right, this link should take you to my post, I am having the same problem.
Funny you mention the pulley, I had the same idea, have not had any luck finding one however.
Good luck.
there is a high amp pully for the alternator (at idle), I have wondered how hard it would be to put the original alt pulley on the powersteering and the high amp pulley on the alternator. Don't know if you'd have to go to a smaller belt or not with the change.
