omg talk about bad luck my truck over heated on the way home from work i was close enough to say f__k it and drove the rest of the way it blew the top rad hose but i made it.
i plugged in my block heater, the next day i got a new rad hose and some fresh antifreeze a new rad cap and thermostat . i addded water instead to make sure it wasnt going to leak or overheat. but i had to double back to my place of work to get my battery charger when i arrived back to try to start my truck the rad and all the block was frozen solid because my block heater kicked the bucket probably from being plugged in when it was empty ? now i have no garage and am in need of a majour thaw out but cant wait until june. life in edmonton is cold this time of year
Grt yourself a big metal snow scoop, fill it with bbq coals, when the flame dies down push it in under the engine, seal up around the truck with something to keep the draft out, keep an eye on it(for fires),and hope you havent cracked open the block.Good luck.
Yep get some tarps around the truck to help keep the heat in. Could try putting a couple of space heaters in there to blow some heat around too. I had to do this once and I was lucky to be able to borrow one of those diesel shop heaters to put under the tarp to warm it up. Just like pnose said keep a good eye on it.
Second option would be to find someone who would let you park it in their garage.
