98/99 engine differences. Posting for future reference

I just finished replacing the engine in my '98 explorer. The new engine was from a '99. Just thought I'd post this for anybody that may be interested in the future.
The '98 injection system uses a return line. The '99 is returnless. You need to swap the injector rail lines over from the '98. The engine wiring harness is different. '99 was short a connector for an O2 sensor. The vacuum harness is different. '98 has an extra solenoid and valve connection on top of the intake. The upper intake manifolds are different. The '99 only has the idle control valve. '98 has idle control valve and a vacuum operated valve built in behind it.
Anyway, to make a long story short, swap intake manifold, wiring, fuel lines and vacuum harness from old motor. Also knock sensor. The connector is different.

From: NJ ... the garbage state
interesting but not surprising. my 1998 has a 99 sticker on the valve cover from the replacement motor, so i presume the valve covers are the same?
