I've got a friend that has a few Super Dutys and he wants to get a few more Hp out of them. One of them is an '05 F250 with a 5.4L and Torqshift, the Other is an '01 F350 V10 Auto. I did some lookin for the 250 but came up with nothing. Another thing I did notice that the '01 has the same ECM as a Diesel and the back cover was off and the board was cleaned like it used to have a chip installed in it, are their chips out there for gas engines ??
I would recommend the HyperTech program for 87 octane. You can always go with the higher octane too, but with fuel prices...something to consider.
One can always add a cold air intake plus a better free flowing exhaust. Headers almost always help too. Really the most important is just keeping the SD's tuned up. However, with any modes to the '01...you will probably see more performance from that SD .vs the '05. They are pretty efficient in stock form.
Regarding an individual chip for the gas engines...humm...somehow I believe it is possible, but just cannot think of who offers one. Sorry.
The many views are probably people who know of mods for the Diesel SD trucks (even though this is not posted in the Diesel forum) and then saw that you are talking about gas engines. Just my guess.
I too have no clues on chips or tuners for the gas engines, but I would guess they are available.
