Please help me identify my missing steering part!

Hello everyone...just wanted to pick everyones brains to see if anyone could help me out. I just posted a picture in my gallery that I want to know what part is missing from it. Its on a '76 F-250 with ram assist steering. I'm talking about the ram assist setup that has the bolt and stopper at the end. there is a huge amount of space between that stopper and the actual part that moves the steering (just to the right of it). Right now, as you move the wheel left and right, the ram moves left and right on the picture but there is a point in time where no part of the steering is moving because of the gap at the end of the steering ram. Is there a rubber bushing or another part that has worn/fallen off that was used to occupy the space that the ram is now free to move through? Please help me out! If anyone needs clarification please let me know!

Nate

There should be a large washer on the back side that you can't see in the picture like the one where where the nut is, And a rubber sandwiched between the washers and eye on tierod. the rubber is gone if the washer on the back side (in pic) is there and not worn through. Looks like as much gap that is there the back side washer hole is worn out. Is it loose and hanging on ram shaft?

There are washers on both sides of the tie rod and they are both solid. There is NO rubber between either washer and the tie rod. All there is are the washers that are catching the tie rod to turn the wheels left or right with some big movement in between where I guess the rubber should be. Every parts catalog and diagram I see doesn't mark these rubber bushings so I wasn't sure if anything was missing or not. they should be available from any truck parts place right? Do I just remove the nut on the end of the assist and slip the rubber bushings on either side of the tie rod? Thanks for the help!

You might be able to use shock bushings for a shock with the stem and nut end if the rod diameter is the same.

Thanks 75.....but I was looking in the NPD catalog too and couldn't figure out what they were. What are they classified as? I have the third edition catalog. What page are they on or under what heading? Thanks everyone for their help! Hopefully this will help some of the steering slop!
