Smile fireman

Could some one tell me if they have had a problem like mine and what they did to fix it ?
I have a 98 f150 4.9 st 6. with 90000 miles. I was coming home last week and it started misfiring so I stoped. it was not hot and has a new gas tank, filter and pump (Hi press and lo press.) I put a new computer in , a new Distributor and icm, it has new wires ,cap ,plugs and coil. I now can start it and it runs Fine untill
it gets to running temp. then starts missing again! I tried replacing some of the sensors like the MAP, and I checked the Gas for water or durt but all is OK.
It runs great till it warms up Any one have a thought Thanks Phil

coolant temp sensor?

i'm guessing you either had the year wrong or the motor wrong. is it a 98 with a 4.2 or a 90something with a 4.9?

mhm.

there's two sensors for the coolant, one is low passenger side on the block, you can ignore that one its for the guage. The other one is going to be close to the thermostat (sorry can't remember off hand exactly where) on the head, that could very well be your culprit.

yeah it will probably stay in open loop "limp home mode" and drink gas. But if it runs fine while its unplugged then i would say it would be a good idea to replace it. If you have a chiltons manual you can test it with a multimeter so you aren't just throwing parts at it.
