How are the heated seats in the F250 CC,
Ive heard they cycle on and off, and also that they wont start warming up until your sitting in the chair.
also That the button for the heat should have been on the dash as you cant tell they are on or off because the button is cramned between the seat and the door.
Just wondering as I dont want heated seats in the summer. Not sure if one could bump the switch without knowing and then driving around with hot seats
Mine doesn't cycle through or anything, but my leg hits the button what seems like 50% of the time. You'll know when it does because about 5 min later, your butt starts to warm up! And the light is on the switch and its kinda hard to see. Also, on my 05, I can hit the switch, turn off the truck, come back out, and the heated seats will stay on. I love this feature, my 02 didn't work like that.
I have an 03 with the heated seats and yes, Pearland is a suburb of Houston. Truck came from Washington State. I've never had a problem bumping the button accidently. My seats do cycle on then off and never back on again when activated. I never got a straight answer from the dealer about whether it was supposed to do this or not. I suspect not but I figured that since they didn't seem to know the answer to a seemingly simple question, they would end up screwing up the seat if the tried to fix it, so I let it go.
As far as an idicator light, you are correct. At least on mine, the indicator is part of the button to trun the heaters on and you can't see them because they are down at the bottom of the seat.
All that said, I like the feature and would get it again.

I have '06 SD CC FX4 Lariat. I live in FL so don't need them much but got to WV in winter and both the wife and I really liked them. I think they get too hot but it is easy enough to turn them off. I do with the switch was on the panel somewhere. Would be easier to see if they are on. If they are and you dont know it your butt is already dead anyway.
Yup, same gripe about the heat coming on in summer and the switch placement. I thought about putting a switch on the dash, now I just pull the fuse in the Spring. I'm glad the dealer talked me into the seats when I ordered the truck. Now I love them.
My dad's 03 they cycle off and stay off after a while. My 05' stay on until I turn the switch off. Only complaint I have is my Jeep has different settings for temp. The truck gets too hot sometimes.
In my '06 F-350 SC 4x4, they work great, but do not switch off. Not a big deal, I get warm and hit the switch. However, on the 30 degree mornings in N Washington, I love them. I wish my 2001 Excursion had them. It was probably an option I did not order. Live and Learn. Once my wife feels them, I'll pobably never drive the truck again,at least during the winter months. Oh well, I've had it dor a month and she is happy with the Excursion. Maybe I can keep it going until spring.
On my 05 after a while the seem to cycle off. the switch shows they are on but the seats are not hot anymore. I think the guy that put the button for the heated seats so you cannot see it while driving is probaby the same guy that desgined the radio with the mute button the farthest away of all the radio buttons (that shoud be on the wheel or at least with in arms reach)
Mine get really hot every once in a while then cool off. They are not very consistent. My complaints about the radio only start with the mute button. I think it really bad they made me pay extra for the truck and radio and the one in my Taurus is better.
I had intermitting problems with the seat getting cooler and then heat up again, are they thermostatically controlled or are they designed to stay on? My 12 months are coming up so maybe I should bring it to the dealership to have it checked.
