I was wondering after the antirattle kit is installed, is there a need to install a rubber weather stripping kit to keep out the water or does the felts do it for you? I don't want the bottom of my door to accumulate water and start to rust.
The main purpose of the anti-rattle kits are to keep the window from breaking when you slam the door. I am wondering what kind of anti-rattle kit I will need for a one-piece glass? Will the stock ones work?
When you remove the vent window and division bar and replace with one piece glass you will need a longer one piece channel. And the original size wipes at the bottom of the window will be to short also. You can buy a channel kit or purchase the channel in long straight sections and bend it yourself. You can also buy the longer wipes separately, at least I believe you can.
Always check to be sure the drain holes at the bottom of the door are not plugged! Use seam sealer to keep the water from getting between the outer skin and inside panel at the flange. You can't keep water out of the door.
There is no way to keep water from the inside boor bottom. I had my doors sandblasted inside and out, then painted the inside bottoms with POR 15. After it dried , made sure the elongated drain holes were open.
