No B20 that you buy at the pump you do not dewater it. You shouldn't have to do anything to it.

I was refering to running vegetable oil - close cousin of biodiesel two different things.

Well it's past noon, your truck running fine?

thanks - I really want to keep using the bio so I'll just watch my separator carefully! I'll be checking out different suppliers too.

Any amount of Bio can be run in the winter, but it must be heated or treated. Problem is there is no good additives out there to help the gell point. Plenty that help the CFPP, but then you get a solid gold blob instead of a solid white blob. If you ask me it is actually worse as it makes it harder to see the gelling. If you are using B20 (I am) you should be just fine all winter. I use B20 in my 99 F250 and I have not had any issues except at start-up when I do not plug it in, it surges for a few seconds then clears right up. Keep on Biodieseling.

Hello, I'm a new member with a new to me 99 PowerStroke, In Vermont bio-diesel is becoming more available and I have filled up with B-20 several times since I have owned my truck. I have no negative feedback on the subject of using bio. In fact it was the primary reason for the purchase of my truck. For all those still on the fence about the issue of bio-diesel use, I highly recommend a book called "From the fryer to the fuel tank." This book provides good detailed info on almost everything dealing with using veggie oil as an alternative fuel, it also deals in depth with conversions to burn straight vegetable oil in your diesel.

***** nelson has a website telling about bio diesel. I was wondering of biodiesels lubricity. I also heard that the biodiesel takes away alot of the compustion clatter and cleans the engine and fuel system, I have heard of people switching to it and having to change the fuel filters out because of all the crud it breaks loose. who knows.

All what you say is true. Once the fuel filter switcharoo is over than it's back to normal.

Thanks - I am definitely gonna stick with the B-20. And in the warmer weather I'll try B-100.

I have been running B99. Reduced smoke on startup, smother running engine, no diesel smoke smell. The only problem is not enough pumps pumping Biodiesel yet.

I think I've read that it starts getting thick as high as 40F.
