Ordering Preference?

Why don't the customer orders (when someone like myself orders a truck with specific options) get preferential treatment over the orders that a dealer places to replenish his/her inventory? In that, one's specific order would get preferential production treatment. You would think that putting an individuals order AHEAD of the "others" would make good business sense. After all, it's the customer first, right? NOT trying to sound pretentious/arrogant but it would make for a quicker sales cycle and please the customer all the more, would it not?

That's up to the dealer, not Ford. The dealer assigns each order a priority when they place it with Ford. We always give highest priority to sold orders, with lower priorities for stock units. The problems then start at Ford's end; they give the most units to those dealers that sell the most. I could have a total of 20 orders with Ford, and let's say 18 of them are sold units. If there's another higher-volume dealer with the same total number ordered, but they're all stock units, his stock units will get built before my sold orders do.
