Hi, i was wondering if anyone new of some very good glass packs that have a nice deep tone but yet have a very loud cackle....i have heard a lot of nice trucks with loud glass packs that cackle good and i wanna know what some good mufflers are to get....thanks jeremys brother kevin...o yeah i have a 400 big block for an engine
I always use 18" glass packs. I never worry about the brand name because it's usually what the muffler shop is using. They give a nice mellow tone at idle and don't really sound off until you put your foot in it. As they get some miles on them they get louder, but still not annoying at idle.
The shorter the glasspack (16-18"), the louder, higher pitched sound you will get. Longer ones (36-48"), will give you a quieter sound but a deeper mellow.

ya i have heard this before about how long the pipe is but does it matter if you have 3 in. pipe or smaller pipe i have heard taht smaller pipe will cackle better but i have heard large 3 in. pipe cackle really good before?
you want a nice sounding loud exhaust, try a set of 30 series flowmasters with those chrome bellow tips everyone puts at the end of there exhaust for a louder sound. if these are going on a truck use a short exhaust ( duals ) that turns out right at the front of the rear tires . it does look pretty cool and sounds oh so nice.
