rear swap

I have a 63 f100 shortbed unibody and I was wondering if anyone has swapped a rear from a late model expedition or f150 with the big disk brakes?
I have one that needs gears and was considering putting it in with a four link and air bags.

I think the issue would be the width of the newer housing and axles, if you have a way to shorten the parts and move the spring perches it can be made to fit.

I didn't measure the width of the axle yet. If it is close I am going to cut all of the brackets off of the expedition rear and weld a four link kit to it.

your wheel bolt pattern is going to be diffrent, and the modern axles are 4 to 6 inches wider. You might look at an explorer axle. Its an 8.8, around 59 inches wide, and all of them after '99 have disc brakes
