Might be a little off topic but still has to do with all pick-ups. Been noticing lately, alot of near new single cab pick-ups. Why do you suppose that these are making a return? Could it be a money crunch deal and maybe they give up the bigger cabs to spend the extra for the Diesel or have I just been in the right place at the right time to have seen theses? I know I'd walk before I would give up my extended cab, in fact at times wished it was a crew cab.
It would be intresting to know just how many of you on this forum have a single cab.....I bet not many!
I've got a CC with the long bed and can't even see a need for the short bed. I just park farther out when I need to. Of course, I only go to town about once a month so that could be a bit of a factor..lol. Sure wouldn't want to go back to the standard cab ever again, heck, even the extended cab would seem like a tight fit now. With a 1-year old in a car seat the rear doors are a MUST!
All I know is if your over 6 ft. tall, those regular cabs are really cramped. I have an extended cab and wouldn't mind a crewcab either. With the wife, 2 kids and the dog all inside the truck on camping trips, it gets a little tight. I don't see too many regular cabs around SE Wisconsin.
I have a regular cab just because i bought it from a guy i know who was the original owner, and i got a smoking deal about $5000 under blue book. But there is something about a reg cab long bed jacked to sky. The classic pick-up.
I love my crew and I`m 6foot two. Seriously I jam so much crap in a truck for work and play that even with this cc I could cut and splice another cab on for good measure. I do find having this cap is a great bonus for securing tools and other items away from weezles and inclement weather. I luckily have access to a dump trailer for utility that I lost from having the cap.
love the crew cab, cant go back now, you can seat 6 comfortably. I know a guy who bought a dodge CC a few years back (3500 cummins), he bought his new mine I bought about 2yrs old for about 65% the cost of a new one, when he saw the room I had in the back seat he looked bummed, the dodge CC back seat has no room, just saw the add for the new dodges and they are finally getting it right, a much larger back seat..
