hard shift
94 bronco w/e40d trans. When transmission shifts into gears it will throw you in gear hard. I put a new transmission in & it still does it. I think it's a wiring problem but can't find where. Any help would be appreciated.

pull your VSS located on the rear diff and inspect for metal shavings. might need to replace that part. also the mlp solenoid on the side of tranny could also cause issues. because you tranny is electric it needs readings from various sensors. fordfuelinjection.com has instructions for pulling codes

Stupid but worth asking
I had the same issue and being an old car guy, I would have never thought of this, but there are some Maxi fuses under the hood that seem to control shift points have you checked those ?
