New exhaust System
I am finally going to replace the factory exhaust system on my 2000 F150 5.4 I am looking for the soft mellow tone but want the pipes on the truck to sound good without waking up the neighborhood. One shop told me to go with the flow master three chambers for a nice soft smooth sound. Anyone have any experience with these? Thanks.

Flowmasters are nice, but depending on your rpms at highway speed, you could get the annoying drone that will drive you crazy. I have them on my Cobra, but it is geared so I get past the drone at highway speed. Personally, I went with the Borla catback, and absolutely love it. Not annoying, but throaty and different than everyone else.

I installed the Magnaflow system earlier this year and it sounds great even at highway speeds. Agressive idle and at full throttle! But not to the point of annoyance and not near as loud as my friend's truck who is running a Flowmaster set-up.

I put the flowmaster 40 series on my truck and the sound is great. My neighbor put on the 50 series flowmasters and his is louder. I have only heard the magnaflows on a v6 F150. If you go to the flowmaster website you can hear all the different series they carry.
