frame swaps

will a 1979 ford bronco 4x4 have the same frame as a 1980 ford 2 wheel drive

I don't think so, I THINK that the bronco is a little wider and shorter. But then again I never actually measured.......

They are completely different. Not even close. The Bronco is shorter in any year, and the 78-79 frames are different than 80-96.

The only thing similar I can think of is the rear half of the frame may be the same width, as I have swapped a frame hitch from my 79 F-150 to my 85 F-250. I know the front half is either narrower or wider(can't remember which) on the 79 than it is on the 80's and up trucks.
