There was a discussion of trying to connect down in Old Sac. With a couple of these folks on the other side of the mountain, travel can be unpredictable this time of year. March/April might be a better target time range.
I did a quick count of the western chapter posts and the only one that is really active is the Northwest chapter. My suspicion is that there is so much rain that they are spending their time on the the forums until their three or four sunny days toward the end of July.
I set up the frapper map so we could see where everyone is - there are 36 people who signed up for it.
My guess is that sac at any time would work. The guys on the east side of the mountain may not be able to make it, but who says we can't have one now and one later?
But what we do need is some sort of activity to have as a background to our meeting. I was disappointed that nobody wanted to go to the Turlock swap meet, but maybe there is something going on in Sac that members would find fun and interesting.
My suggestion is that we have local meetings - open to everyone but mostly we would expect only those who live close by to attend.
You Go WillyB! Set it up. You never know, some from over here on the side of the rising sun just might make it. I believe the weather is supposed to be good this weekend....
Back to the title of this thread, we do kind of need a moderator or Chapter Leader or something. It seems Aaron has lost interest. What to do? Oh what to do?

I almost went to the swap meet. Just as I was leaving I got a call for a job. Since I don't have a steady job I jumped on it.
I would have too - I did not intend to chastise anyone, just to be realistic. Meetings need to be within a comfortable driving distance of a member or he is less likely to attend.
The last time they attempted a meeting it was in the evening and 4 hours from my house - I would have had to rent a motel to attend. Had they moved it closer to my house someone else would have had to drive 4 hours -
My idea is smaller meetings - and then once we really have a group a larger weekend meeting like a group campout or a visit to Reno-
Another problem is that Ford Trucks are too broad an interest - some members like the 4X4 part, others want to restore old Fords, some what to modify new ones -
I would drive all day to look at some restored and modified fat fenders, but would not hardly drive across town to see some lowered rangers. I am sure there is other members whose interests are just to opposite. We have to either come up with something that interest all, or break up into smaller groups of like minded members.
Nothing really at Cal Expo, but the Good-Guys will be in Pleasanton both:
24th All American Get-Together March 25, 26, 2006 &
13th Summer Get-Together June 3, 4, 2006
Any thoughts on these events?
Yes, both would work - and draw from both the bay area and Sac. But why not also have a small meeting to work out the details? Hold it around Sacromento and see who shows up? Does someone have a shop building and are willing to host a bring-your-own BBQ? Hold it on Sat afternoon, maybe?
Where ever you figure WillyB, I would make sure to go through and e-mail everyone who has signed up on the frapper for Norcal to ensure the word gets out. Maybe even with an e-mail RSVP so it could be planned accordingly.
Tim
You guys set it up and I'll try to make it. Right now I have a so many irons in the fire I don't know which way I'm going, but I'll try. Sorry I haven't been contributing to the site much, but with the fishing sites and all they entail I've been a little busy.
