Transfer case upgrade

I have a 75 Ford F150 300 6cyl, 4 speed standard trans with a one speed transfer case. I have a 205 from a 77 automatic C6 trans that I would like to swap onto the standard trans. Does anyone know what parts I will need to make the swap.

Thanks.

are you sure of that, I don't think I've ever seen a one speed transfer case?

From 73-79 there were only 2 options of transfer cases and both had 2 speeds, one was a NP205 part time t case, and the other was a NP203 full time t case.

Just went and rechecked the tc I want to put in the 75 Ford and it is a NP 203. Sorry about any confusion.

Actually I'm having a similar problem, and I'm pretty sure it's only the linkage. Not sure how to fix it, but I know if I go under the truck and switch it into 4wd then the t case works great.

The tc in the truck now is a single speed. Only 2w high and 4w high, no low at all, that is why I am wondering if the NP203 would go in and what parts would be needed.

Ok, you'd need a adapter from a standard tranny that came off of a NP203 also. Then you might need a 203 crossmember, and driveshafts.

I have the 203 driveshaft from the automatic. The frame has the crossmember in place. The 75 has the driver side mount for the 203. Is there a spline shaft that goes from the output shaft of the transmission to the input shaft of the tc. Thanks for all your help.

Yes there is. The adapter between the tranny and t case are all different, whether they are manual or auto, 203 or 205.

Its a dana-21, used from 69-74 F100's, not just 73-74

That must have been a penny pinching move by ford, I've never seen one in my life on anything, hell even the crapbox bronco 2 my wife had was a 2 speed.

A lot of OEMs used a single speed T-case in those days. Not too many people really had the need for a low range.
