Question What kind?

I have an 1999 Explorer XLT V6 ,what I am looking for is what type of alternator I have?There are numbers stamped on top (XL2U-AA) but not sure if this means anything.

I have just replaced mine on my 1993. Changed from stock 95A to 130 A. I wondered why the Limited model was the only one to get the big alternator so I started a thread. Someone replied with a website that would tel you what you have on your car. Here it is:

I don't see where either of these were made by Mitsubishi. But if so, never ever buy a Mitsubishi rebuilt alternator.

I believe your setup only calls for the 130 amp alternator. Figure about $150 for a rebuilt one.
