launch date?

does anyone know what time this engine is gonna launch? i know its for the 2007 model year, but will they do a mid summer launch in 2006, a winter launch in december, somewhere between that? i can't wait to see what this engine can do. also does anyone know where there is an official press release or something of that nature about this engine?

my guess is spring early spring. they might start producing the engines 4 to 5 months before to build up a good stock of them, so it is possible they have already started building them.

Same reason as to why they had announced a lower tow rating for the 2004 f-150 until after the Titan had come out- to keep the competetion guessing.

Man, I go away for a few months and look what I miss An NEW FORUM ! Cool I personally can't wait untill the new trucks come out. Last I was "told" it was October of 2006 for the new TT engine. The 2007 MY truck should be avaliable mid next year, but the engine should take a little longer until it's in the new truck. I'm gettin' sick of this car I traded my truck for and cant wait to get a new one again (NOT the 6.0L). Hopefully this 6.4TT will not be such a shot in the foot like the 6.0L was at the beginning of production. I may be brave and get a first model year again, or I may just wait it out for the 2008 MY and see what happens. I would love it if someone had some facts from Ford about the numbers that these engines are going to be making. Strage how Ford is keeping this such a big secret. I saw a newer spy photo from TDS and the 07's are also going to have new tow mirrors as well (more narrow like the Chebby's) too bad, I loved my 2003's tow mirrors.
Oh well I guess we will have to wait and see. . . .
Good to be back again,
Mike

What do they know?

A couple of dealers said a Cummins, Cat, etc...would be in it.

I have know idea why anyone would want to be a "tester" for any manufactures new model, that is the whole reason we have all of the belly achers around this forum whining about their 6ohs, before that there were a bunch of 7.3 whiners around.

I certainly don't mind, and intend on getting one upon debut

Someone has to or they would simply rust away on the dealer lot. No matter how much factory R+D is done, the real product will not show its face until out in the field.

I'm glad there are people like PSD 60L Fx4 out there. Guys like him will push, pull, and pound everthing they can get out of an engine. If it's going to break they will break it. Thinks to them Ford will know every weak spot on the engine within three months and we will get a much better engine the following years. So PSD 60L Fx4, I tip my hat to you and thank you in advance for helping the rest of us to purchase a quality truck. I only wish I had the time, money, patience, and *****to go out and buy a first year product.

I agree, someone has to be first and I'm saving to get it as soon as they hit the lot.
