Hey Art Happy Belated Birthday!
I hope you used never siez and Dielectric grease on the boots!
Rich
Rich

Yes, anti-sieze... always on iron vs. aluminum.
And dialectric grease - on the tip of the boot where it meets the spark-plug, around the seal area (filled the space between the upper dust seal and the lower two seals) and where the boot meets the COP (which is exposed to open air).
I had no spark plugs with questionable seats - can't say that for the wife's '97 Cougar though - one or two were a little weird looking - with an inspection mirror, I verified the seat in the hole was nice and shiny.
BTW, Happy Birthday
That dirt, I have NO idea where it came from. Yes, #10 had some dirt around the hole on top of the head, but the rest of them? Nothing.
And I certainly didn't go mud bogging
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Aftermarket?I hope the folks that go muddin' can see just where that muddy water, grit, corruption can go once it sloshes over the top of the engine - unless they've sealed the cavities.
I knew nothing about the Triton engine when I bought my truck - especially how damaging water in the plug cavity can be.
HEY, everybody! Look here and behold! If dust can get in there, so can water...
Oh, and belated hoppy birdy, Art...
Got some nice presents for you to put under the tree...and don't be shakin' that box, now...

Is that the gift that keeps shaking after YOU stop shaking it?
I would not worry about your wife's plugs, nothing a good fuel injector additive won't fix. My wife bought a 95 stang in 98 with 10K miles on it and not knowing who had worked on it I did a major tune up. replaced everything I could wires, cap, filter, egr valve, fuel filter etc. but I used a set of platinum plugs and switched to Amsoil, and there oil filter, other then changing everything at every 5k miles it ran like a clock with the same plugs, I felt guilty after 8 years later and 70k more miles so I pulled the plugs and they looked so good I just brushed them off regaped them and put them back in, fires up even at -30 ( remember that old saying if it runs good don't fix it) Bosh platinum plugs sure made a believer out of me, I should of knocked on wood because two weeks later It started missing and lost power, turned out she was using the cheepast gas around and pluged up a fuel injecter so I flushed them out and replaced one that was gone for sure, other then changing to a better fuel and a bottle of fuel injector cleaner now and then it's back to smooth sailing, at this rate I won't have to change the plugs for another 10 years, Baaahaaahaa!! HEY wait a minute here that will make me 64!! then I will really be a senior (over the hill gang member)... I'm just a good old country boy gear head who has not grown up yet... and I hope I never do Yeee Haaa! driving my 04 lighting is like breaking in a wild Mustang (horse that is) life is good.
