Coolant Problems

I own a 94' F-150 with the 4.9L EFI with 128,000 miles on the whole truck. I fill up the resivoir with coolant, and a month and a half later its bone-dry. Everyone's first instinct is to check the system for leaks, which I did, and found nothing. The engine still runs strong, and it doesn't smoke or anything. I've asked other people with similar trucks and they say they have to fill up the resivoir regularly as well, but a month and a half seems kind of extreme to me??? Am I worrying to much, or is it something I should be concerned about???

imo that is not normal.

you have a small leak somewhere.

maybe a heater hose, or a loose clamp.

go to a radiator shop and have them pressure check it for you,

How did you check it for leaks. Get a radiator pressure tester that pumps up the system with pressure. Absolutely vital for cooling system testing. The testers are available from sears, or from jcwhitney. Buy a quality tester and it will last for many many years, mine is about 30 years old, it was my fathers before mine.
