2150 carb question

I have a 400m with a 2150 2bbl carb. My question is what, if anything, attaches to the choke clean air tube. This sticks out of the upper body and is located in the back by the choke pull down diaphragm assembly.

It was capped, but I don't know if this is correct. Should something attach to this, should it be capped or should it be left open?

2150 carb question

It usually attaches to a heat tube coil that mounts
into an intake manifold well directly below the choke housing.

2150 carb question

Ok, I have a heat tube coil that runs from the intake manifold to a port under the thermostatic choke housing. There is another line to the same port that runs to the purge canister. The insulated copper heat coil looks specific to this application as well as the connector that hooks up both the heat tube and the vacuum line running to the purge canister.

The choke pulldown diaphragm assembly has one port that connects to a port in the back of the carb just above the EGR spacer extension.

The choke clean air tube is back by the EGR and is off of the upper body. It looks as if it is just open to the air chamber inside the air cleaner assembly. I am getting my terminolgy from my Chilton and Haynes manules. The vacuum diagrams in the books and on the sticker under my hood, to my interpretation, does not describe this port.

I have seen a picture on the "sticky carb" post:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/dcforum/61_79/9641.html
Mine is not hooked up like this, but the port I am describing is visable in the pic. It is the vacuum line at approxamately 12 o'clock position.

This carb was put on by my mechanic (who is a ford guy). He is the one who capped this port.

There seems to be two types of 2150 carbs, one for altitude compensator. Maybe my system is a combination of carb types?

Thanks for the previous post. It seems to be OK, but with all of the crazy things done by previous owners to the emmisions system I am always a bit cautious when I see a deviation in the routing or something that does not seem quite right.

Thanks Jeff

2150 carb question

Are all the emission hoses intact or removed?

If they are all removed, just leave that port plugged.
It doesn't do any harm.

You could always disconnect where the hose plugs into and change the Two around But, that doesn't really serve any purpose.

My Air Horn Fresh Air Vacuum pipe like yours is plugged too.
