In driving my new to me 2002 F350 dually with the 7.3 I'm getting anywhere from 14.5 to 16 mpg around town and commuting to work daily, just wondering if this is fair to good or can it do better
My commute is just around 20 miles round trip per day plus lunch with my son (60 miles round trip) once a week and a trip to the ATV park once a week (120 miles round trip)....I get around between 17 and 19mpg every week. Got 108,000 on my 2000 7.3 (2 wheel drive, extended cab, short bed). I'm VERY happy!
That sounds pretty good for a dually. You are turning two more tires than most of us other guys.
I have a SRW single rear wheel and get 15-17 city and 18-20 highway. depends on where i get the fuel sometimes. conoco/texaco i see the best results but they are usually higher in price. shell i see the worst.
try checking your air and fuel filter. i was getting 14 at one time, changed the fuel filter and bumped right up.
but the one thing they say that helps the most is that right foot
I usually get around 15.5 combined driving, now with winter blend it is closer to 14.5. If i drive under 65 on interstated, it is closer to 18-19. 55 mph makes for some really good numbers, like 20-21, but that just takes too long to get anywhere.
