He insisted that with a part-time 4x4 system, you can't engage it all the time when driving on snow. Instead, he thinks you should use it only when you start from steady, and disengage it after you got the speed.
I had a clear thought in mind. But this guy just don't belive it. So, you guys here are the pros. Could you tell us, if you keep your part-time 4H engaged almost all the time when driving ON SNOW? I believe all the f-150s, super duties with 4x4 have only the part-time one.
Depends on the conditions. If the road is covered, I leave it in 4x4 Hi. If it is partly covered, I just switch in and out when I need it. You are right, he is wrong!

Just ask yourself - is the surface slippery? If the answer is yes - leave it in 4X. Applies to mud, snow, grass, sand, anything. You need the 4X for traction, but there must be enough slippage between axles to avoid "windup" of the gear train.
I drive in snow all the time and if the road is slippery I leave it in 4H. I dont know if its good but on the roads I drive I usually drive at about 80 ( If no amatures are driving around me) So far three 150's and never an issue.
