EMISSIONS STUFF

I have a 1979 F100 w/302 V8. What can you tell me about a metal tube that is connected to the back of the carb is covered with a heat resistant sleeve, extends over the passenger side valve cover then head down. I was removing the valve cover gasket and it came loose from were ever it connects. Thanks for the help

Look for a 1/4" hole in the exhaust anifold.

Sounds like the 1/4" metal tube that feeds warm air into the choke.

Thanks for the help, I found the opening on the outside of the exhaust manifold that the exhaust manifold choke heater inserts into (plain metal tube), but the manual indicates that the insulated tube plugs in behind the manifold?????
