Strange Problem

2002 Excursion with 5.4 engine. When heater is turned on, high beam headlights come on automaticlly. Can remove the fuse to the headlights and the high beams still come on. Anyone ever had this problem?

Do not have automatic climate control. This happens whenever any controls for A/c, heater or even if the blower switch is activated. If none of the heating/cooling controls are activated, lights work correctly. Only the hi beams come on, not the low beams or fog lights. ?????

That would be my first thought. You need to get to someone who has access to a Ford NGS or WDS. These scantools can access the GEM module and run self tests/code checks. Should be some error codes set if the GEM is faulty. If I get a chance, I will hook my NGS up to my '01 and play around a bit to see what tests are available.
