Bio Diesel Compatable?

Seeing as how Ford is touting that they want to be the leader in alternative fuel vehicles do you think that the new 6.4 will be able to use higher than the B5 that they now claim is the maximum. Just curious to see if anyone has heard anything.

i doubt it. if they use the piezo injectors. like they use in their oversea's small diesel engines. the piezo injectors have been said to be on the 6.4 tt.

I doubt it as well.

To many issues to address that would be out of Ford's control.

No telling what the home brew folks would come up with even if they stayed within the % limits.

Particulates could have a devastating impact on any high tech diesel engine.

Another point to note is that all these new engines revolve around emissions, while bio-diesel produces less soot and particulate emissions, it has increased NOX production. It is easier to reduce particulates with a filter than it is to reduce NOX through more EGR strategy. In order to pass emissions with their current strategy they must regulate %bio allowable.

I can't remember where I heard or read this but I thought that when B20 got some "stamp of approval" or certification, we could then start using it in the 6.0. From my understanding, B5 has this certification and B20 is next. Again, I am sorry for not having the whole story. Anyway, I would love to be able to burn B20 or higher. It really ticks me off that we have to technology today to quit relying on the middle east and put a bunch of farmers back in business.

Anyway, if/when I can find the article, I will submit it.
