99 expy eb transmission shift problem!!!!!!
Hi,
I have a 99 expedition eb 2wd 5.4l ...not sure on transmission size. I started noticing that the tranny seems to shift very slow from first to second as if stalling. If you pull out into traffic you have to gas it to keep from getting run over! It only does this when it is cold. After warm it shifts fine. I changed the fluid and filter and still funny shifting. I've had this expy for 2 years and really haven't noticed this before. It has 86000 miles on it. This is the second tranny filter and fluid change. I have pulled a 26' travel trailer this past year. Any help will be appreciated!!!! Thanks!!

if the trans is a 4r70w i would check for a worn 1-2 accumulator .when they get to fitting the bore loosely you can get a delayed 1-2 shift.drop the pan and check it.it is the dollar sized bore at the drivers front of the inside of the trans.ford makes a updated piston for it.i would also change the springs and cover.
