simple question

In my chilton manual it reads....

"Diesel engine models have two 12 volt.... .......The secondary on the passenger's side is dedicated to providing current to the intake manifold air heater......."

What is the intake manifold air heater? where is it?

This is taken from a chilton manual, # (8136) 26664 Ford PICK_UPS and BRONCO 1987-96 REPAIR MANUAL

the ford 6.9 and 7.3 don't have intake heaters they use glow plugs(unfortentlly) and the batteris are hooke in series for 12v but w/ more capcity mostly to start since there is very little else for the battery to power

And the passenger side battery is the primary battery, everything hooks to it.
