question about insurance

I'm in college now. I've always had health insurance through my dad's company. I took a semester off last year. Now I'm back in as a full time student again. But then when I tried to file a claim they said they ended my coverage since I didn't send any proof of full-time student for that semester which I took off.

But now I'm a full time student again and is still under 23, shouldn't they cover me for this semester as long as show them the proof that my registration (this semester)?

I would say man, as long as you show them proof you were a student for the same time you made a claim, you should be good to go.

When my son was in college ( up until last year) I had to certify he was in college every fall with a certification from the college that he was enrolled. This was good until the next fall term.

That would be Right for Ontario, having to notify them each year. I'm not sure of the cut off in age since your still going to College. Yes the Off again On again would trip things up though.
