Can I buy an aftermarket bed and how much does it cost? How hard is it to replace? My bed has rust up the yahoo and I am trying to decide if I should replace panels or the whole darn thing.
[font color=red size=2]I've heard several on this board talk of a guy in Iowa that brings rust-free parts up from the south and sells them. He usually has boxes and cabs for our Fords. I don't know his name though, try doing a search for it... That would be one option.
Is the structure of the bed solid? Could you just replace the bedsides or just the rusted parts? Might consider taking it to a bodyshop and get their professional opinion...
There is an outfit online that sells fiberglass beds for old ford pickups. It would never rust, but it would not be ideal if you use the truck for hauling or as a work truck. The bed will set you back about $1800. You should be able to get a decent steel bed for under $1000. Good luck
Casey,
You may consider turning the old rust bucket into a flatbed. They are cool and there easy to clean off; just dump the clutch and turn the wheel sharp and she's as clean as they get! You could put sides on it if you want.

P.S. Women of character love flatbed trucks. At least, that's what I've found.
