Question Climate control, dead

Started truck up this morning, 05, 6.0 and turned on heater to take chill out, drove about 5 miles and shut it off, loaded a load of wood in the trailer and started back home, noticed that I didn't have the temp. showing on the panel, it is totally dead, no auto no nothing. As I have had a few problems with the truck will call tomorrow for an appt. Anyone else have theres go totally dead on them, what did they find. By the way, had an 03 and Ford bought it back, now having some of the same problems with this one as the 03.

happened to me twice. The second time the only connection I could make was that I was in a real hurry to get going and did not wait for the glowplug indicator to go out before starting the truck. shut it off and restarted properly and everything was fine. Let us know id you find out anything.

I had the same problem yesterday, 05 6.0. This is about the 5th time in a little over a year. It finanly reactivated after about 24 hrs, and numerous start ups. Previously it came back sooner. I posted yesterday but got no responce. The post is on the last page. I have posted about this before, and have read other posts regarding this, but I can't find them in the search box. From what I recall those that took their trucks in to the "stealers" got no answers as the problem corrected itself before it could be diagnosed. I had planned on taking it in, but with it working it would just be an exercise in futility, as the Service Liars would just give me a double speak answer. I'm sure there must be a service bulliten regarding this common failure.

Update on this, Drove a total of about 30 miles yesterday, 3 different driving times, got in it last night and it came back on when I started it. Still going to take it to garage to see if they know what is going on with it. Will post back with anything new.

Sure hate to have it happen when on the interstate in a snow storm.

Does anyone connected to FOMOCO read these posts? Oh I forgot all the engineers are in India.

Exclamation

Update on, dead climate control, Took truck to garage this morning and they checked everything out and said nothing wrong with it and if it did it again to bring it back and they put truck outside. I got the keys and went to get in it, started it up and guess what, it wasn't working, went inside and got the tech, he couldn't get it to work, shut truck off, played with the key, restarted it, then all at once it started to work, suppose to call tomorrow as he has to read up on just how it powers up and then be able to check the memory system in it, will post more when I find more out about it.

What great info? Those of us who's trucks have the problem want to to know the whys and wherefores, and the solution. Now that would be "Great Info".

Wink

I got to take the truck in this pass Monday, 8am, tech reported off. Took in today, it has only done this 2 times. Tech put it on there testing eq. and took about 10 minutes but he found a problem in the unit in the dash, it would start blinking, off and on, off and on, so as of now they have a complete new unit to go in the dash, hopefully this will take care of the problem, if not they will look further into it. Parts should be here in a couple of days. Will keep updating on this after it is taken care of.
