Well I have time issue problem, I had to replace my rail fuel pump, starter, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, and last but not least my pick-up plate inside the distrubetor<can't spell that one>, well the only stinkin way to get to it is to pull the whole assembly, gears and all and now I can't get it in time again!! I have been messing with it for the past 4 days and I am getting frustrated!!! The truck will turn over but it's back fireing thru the air intake system and no matter what I do I can't seem to get it to fire correctly, anyone out there that can help???
If you know please e-mail me at thefireman774@yahoo.com thank you!!!!!

See you on the boards. ….
Make sure you have access to the dist cap wiring order.
Pull all the plugs. Use your thumb and plug #1 hole while someone turns the engine over using a wrench on the crank nut. If you're doing this all alone you can stuff a wad of foil or something to plug#1, it will sound like a firecracker when it gets blown out. This is the compression stroke. Use a straw, chopstick..., and feel down #1 for when the piston reaches top. This is TDC, Zero degree's. remove dis cap and see if the rotor is pointing to #1 on the cap. Adjust as needed or reinstall dist correctly if you need to, 180 out is quite common. Reinstall plugs/wires and you should be good to go.
Hope this helped,
Tim
Got it, took a couple tries but finally got the thing timed, I also learned something about EFI and cylendars loading up with fuel, dang manifolds got cherry red and the truck wouldn't run until all the fuel burned out, now it's running like a top, thanks again!!
