Thinking about a PSD

Hello All,

I'm researching what type of truck to purchase. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a F250 4x4 Extended Cab PSD 5spd. This is a great source for information, Thank you. I've been fooling with turbocharged imports for years and owned and maintained a diesel dump truck for a few years. Hopefully I'll be able to be of some use to the forum. I need a truck that does everything and the PSD seems to be where it's at. I'm hoping this will be the last truck I ever buy! -Dan-

Welcome to the site Drivend!

I recently purchased my first Turbo Diesel Truck a few months ago (pics in my gallery) and I love it!
I knew I wanted a Ford from the get go and I wouldnt even think twice about getting a Ford. Now the question is what type of PSd are you looking to get?
New, used... 7.3, 6.0?

A few things to consider- '03-some '04's 6.0L had problems so if you are looking to get that year truck do some research on the truck and make sure everything is in check.
'05-06 PSD 6.0L had had very few and minor problems as of now. My '06 is flawless and runs great.

7.3L are also very reliable motors but they are found in pre-03 trucks (you'd have to buy an older truck. They arnt as powerful or fast as a 6.0KL but they do have a good reputaion.

Good luck on your truck hunt and good choice on going with Ford!

I found a deal I couldn't refuse!!

Today I purchased an 86 F250 4x4 with the 6.9L diesel and T19. I got if off ebay for a little bit of nothing. It has 151k, new paint, new front end, warn hubs, new radiator, new waterpump, and all new u joints according to the owner. The owner says he's a fleet diesel mechanic, and the truck has been very well maintained. I have to go to Rochester this weekend and pick it up. I guess I'll be hanging in the pre powerstroke forum! Thanks All. Dan
