Back Glass

I noticed the other day while it was raining and I was on my lunch break that water was comming in thru the back window...really heavy on the driver side...and its never done that before...Only thing that I can figure is the stress to the body and the bed that was twisted in the accident broke the seal...my dad called the local glass company that his work works thru and they said to check the 3rd brake light and if it wasnt that the back glass can be unbolted and the seal be resealed...well i checked the light and it wasnt that so I was wandering how to unbolt the back glass if that is actually possible and wat to use to seal...Thanks

Well make sure your window is closed properly first. I know it's something stupid, but open it all the way and close it fully and make sure it's all sat right. See if you can see the leak, might wanna run the water hose on the roof of the truck (close the door first...). Seal may have just come undone or need a little silicone to seal it tightly.

same experience with leaking back glass

jfarmer - I had the EXACT same experience as you today on my lunch break. I came home and removed the interior panel behind the driver seat along with enough of the headliner to find where the leak actually is located. It appears to be leaking through the window seal about 12" or so from the driver side edge. I sprayed it with a hose and watched it pour through. I did notice the presence of a lot of bolts around the perimeter of the glass, but I did not do anything with them. I am debating whether to try to reseal the window myself or to take it to a pro. I was wondering what you decided to do with yours. I'm worried about taking the bolts loose and then not being able to remove the glass resulting in a worse seal all the way around and still having to take it to a pro.

my dad called the local glass dealership around here and they told me that all we have to do is unbolt all those bolts and the window comes right out and then use watever tape they use to seal it...i forgot the name of it...run that all the way around...stick it back up and rebolt it.
