Cross-contamination

I plan to do my first ATF check/fill service on my 02 Explorer 5R55W transmission tomorrow and will be using a suction gun to force the new ATF if needed up into the tranny (no dipstick on this model!). Can I use the same suction gun later on to remove brake fluid from the master cylinder as I perform my first brake flush or should I go out and buy a different pump?

just to be safe,i would not use the same gun.brake fluid residue in the tranny would be nasty.is the price of 2 sepperate guns worth risking your tranny?

Oil damage to the brake system can be just about as expensive to repair as damage to transmission. Don't take any chances by using the same suction gun.

I decided to get the separate siphon/suction pumps so will be safe from unwitting mistakes. Thanks for the advice.
