turbo's life depends on how it gets taken care of i would say on a stock truck that has had clean air and oil to the turbo would last almost as long as the top end.
bad turbo wont get as much boost, can make scraping or squeeling noises.
stock boost level is about 16-18psi
ive got 3 7.3's not one with a muffler, 1 truck has 4" the other 2 have 5" and one of the trucks with 5" is my wifes and it dosnt bother her.
stock injectors only flow about enough fuel to make about 25 psi of boost with real hot programming.
ebpv removal will make a small difference in response and slightly lower egt's
