yeah, once i stacked my evolution on top of my juice, the lieometer read a 14MPG increase. before, i was at 20.2 mpg (which is a lie, it is 16-17 normally) and i took a ~40 mile drive last night, and it read 34.7mpg. wouldnt that be nice...those things are pretty accurate, only on a bone-stock truck. anything else, its a Lieometer.
Yeah, an ex aqaintence I had before I got the real scoop on this foram was getting anywhere from 27 to 30 with his 2000. I went all out doing what he had. Airaid, Super chips, and cut out muffler. Only I went with Bullydog 4" with down pipe (which sounds more like a vette than the others).
My Bride was not amused at all with my obssesion to get my impossible mileage. I went from 15 to 16. If I take the advice from this forum, I can get 18 (cant drive 65). One constelation is; sometimes I get as good pulling my trailer with 4 wheelers as empty (15 to 16). Heck, I almost put a liar meeter in so I would feel better infront of her. Only she knew better because I was givin her heck because she was getting 68 in her van, downhill.
When I get my Dam power windows fixed, I'll do the Napa filter. Maybe that will help.
Don't think I would complain. I am getting around 15.3 mpg (US) actually 6.5 litres/Kilometer on winter fuel. Might look at one of those tonneau covers, but they aren't real handy around the farm.
JMO, but I have had a tonneau cover on my last truck, it has the same affect as lowering the tail gate (as far as MPGs are concerned). Pretty much no difference at all. However, I had the tonneau to hide the contents in the bed. I used to do a ton of fishing and didn't wan't stuff getting stolen while I was in stores and such.
