I used a Mallory HEI on an '89 roller motor. It's pretty big. It does clear a Stealth manifold by a 1/4 inch. You might need an 11 inch air cleaner. I got it from Speed unlimited on Ebay for $165. Good guys to deal with and

The only one I know of is the Davis Unified Ignition (DUI) we discussed before. I thought you already had that one.
There wouldn't really be one made specifically for the Explorer since it's EFI and has the Ford TFI system stock, but since you've gone carbed a late model DUI unit should fit just fine.

ive got a 3pce. durasprk ignition that they make and sell. i bought a hei from them first and tried it but it wouldnt go in, so isent it back and used the credit for the return to get the durasprk. i think its because they only have one for all years 5.0 and with mine being a 97 something was different as far as distributor goes.does anybody know anything about the proform hei distributor for ford 5.0?
