31 All Original

While looking though the barn of an older relative, I was surprised to find a 31 Ford Pickup hardtop stashed within. I was even more surprised to find that it has never had any parts replaced (even the wood is original and most in great shape) and only has 2400 miles. He bought the truck new in 31 and still has all the paper work including the bill of sale. I expressed an interest in the vehicle and told him that it could be rather valuable, but I'm not a model A enthusiast, so I thought I'd post the question here.

Anyone know how significant this find is? I'd like some background on existing numbers, availability, and demand before I get an appraiser involved. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hard to believe that a '31 survived with only 2400 miles, but then again, anything is possible. Model A figures have stabilized, especially restored ones. The condition is like showroom nice, or a little beat up and needing a little restoration? If it is a showroom perfect truck with low miles, then it would certainly be of a huge interest. But if it a low mile truck, but needing some resto work, then that value diminishes a bit. There is a demand for these trucks, especially one that would be such an easy resto, and having a very good paper trail and history intact. Try to get some pictures up for us to look at, it'll give a much better idea of what the condition is.
Oh, and welcome to the boards!

Thanks! I'll try to get back out there with my camera and take some shots soon. As I mentioned, the discovery happened quite by accident and I wasn't properly equiped.

Thanks again!
