more clearance
I'm planning on putting some 35s under my truck and I want to make sure that I can manage. It's bone stock right now but I don't know if it would be a better idea to use a 3" body lift or try a suspension lift. As far as I can figure a body lift would be quite adequate once I buck out the fender wells. Any ideas, tips, suggestions would be appreciated. It's a 1980 F-150 4x4 with a 351M.

Depending on how stock you want to leave the height before you shove some tire under it, i would pick up a set of leveling coils (progressive rate would be the best), and other than that if keep the suspension stock you will need wheels of less backspacing for the front wheels or you will have issues with the tires rubing on the radius arms.
