Quick Change Differentials

Anyone here thought about using a quick change differential such as a Winters or Halibrand on their classic rides?

I know they're expensive, but pretty cool.

Just curious.

They are cool, but have a couple gotchas to think about besides the price: They are designed to be used with the buggy spring torquetube drive early Ford rear ends, which are too narrow for our trucks and have tapered axle tubes which don't work too well with parallel leaf springs. The parts are even older and weaker than what our trucks originally came with and they would require converting to open driveshaft. In the end the whole assembly would need to be newly custom built. In the end it would be super expensive just to use an old expensive part! Oh yah, and the straight cut gears whine like a banshee.
