The brake pedal on my 2wd 68 f100 squeaks loudly when you push or release the pedal. It has power drum brakes with the large booster.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Now I purchased the disc front end off of a 78 and will be installing 78 Eldorado calipers on the rear with a Jeggs. So it’s going to be a full disc conversion.
What my question is if I how do I get rid of the dam squeak?
Do I have to replace the booster since to run disk brakes? If not is there a fix for the squeak?
Since the booster for a 78 is meant for disc will it make that squeak?
Help???

Booster shouldn't be the problem as they all do the same thing. I just did the conversion on my 72 4wd with 79 parts. had very similar problems. The squeak went away with the new master cylinder. (Plunger was bad) Do you have brake fluid leaking between the master cylinder and the booster? If so its definetly the master cylinder. You need to go with the 78 master cylinder any way due to the larger capacity for the calipers. I replaced both on mine. Got the cylinder and booster premated from the auto parts store for $120. Also probably a good time to change all of the rubber brake lines. I forgot to do the rear and damn near crashed the truck on my first trip out.
