Question??
Hi guys, and thanks for all the good info on here. Anyway on to my question. My buddy had toput a new body on his 03 superduty. Anyway the problem is that somehow the door things got messed up,like there backwards. When the door is closed the dinger and dome light stays on but when it is open the dinger will go off. What gives? Any ideas as what could cause this basackwards situation?

The switch is actually in the door latch. Spray it with contact cleaner and see if that works. If that does not work, you might have to take the door panel off and see how the switch/latch is working. Probably a simple fix, will just take some playing with. I don't have my truck with me right now so I can't look at it visually. Good luck and Happy Turkey

well i acctually pulled the door all apart awhile ago,and everythingis hooked up. It seems as though eveything is working alright. There is a little pin like sensor tha when engaged shut of the dinger ect.. I pulled it out and everything is fine on it. It is working completely backwards and i just cant figure out why.

I'll talk to a body shop friend tonight, if I see him, and ask some questions. He is always a good resourse. Swithes are pretty easy to figure, but I can't imagine what would cause it to work backwards other than what operates the switch. Something is pushing or pulling when it shouldn't be. I don't think it is wiring, that's too simple. Wait a minute, is there wiring under the seat that activates the door alarm and fasten seat belts? If so check those conections, could be reversed, don't know, but it is usually after the door switch. Just a guess.
