Just recieved new armrests from LMC. These suckers are solid rubber, they're very hard and the grain is different. I mentioned it to a friend of mine here and he had a problem with the latch binding with part of it.
I called NPD, the sales person there checked one from stock and said it was soft vinyl.
What experience have you guys had I don't want to have more in shipping than the end product.
By the way if your doors shut like a chevy or the wife and kids pull the door closed with a follow through like a golf swing, those LMC's should hold up good!
Thanks for your responce have a good holiday
These armrests (if 68-72) were used on Econolines for many years after our series of pickups ended, you can often find very good originals in salvage yards or intenet auctions, the ones I got are gray but are in excellant condition. Right armrests on delivery vans are usually unused and left ones were often replaced during the vehicle service life.
Yeha, I ordered the true 67 armrests and they are solid too. I figured they were a duribility upgrade. I don't have a door assembled yet but I will check for some binding. Thanks for the heads up.
The interior latch handle on your 67 is not incorporated with the armrest as in 68 and up so you shouldn't have a problem.
By the way, if you have your panels off think about gluing some closed cell foam or sound deadening material inside your door skins, I used contact cement. Serious difference.
Does anyone manufacture a left side vinyl armrest in the off white cream color for a 68 CS or the same color in rubber if they are stronger? Not to steal thread, thanks.
I also ordered a set from LMC. They are hard as a rock. I put them on, got in the truck, shut the door and had to roll the window down and use the outside handle to get out. The latch on the inside would not work. From previous experience with them I didn't even try to send them back. I ordered a black set from Mac's and they are soft and the handles work fine. I don't think I will anythingorder from LMC again.
I bought some onebay and the box said they were from DC ... anyway the bolt holes weren't counter drilled and they didn't have a metal reinforcing plate. I had to get 3" screws to use them.... There's some real crap out there.
Thanks for the replies comertrucks and zsir, that's just what I was looking for.
LMC seems to have good prices and I've used thier patch panels with good results,(the lower inside doors were not close enough to use just the corners easily) but some things just need to be right.
Maybe someone would be interested in putting together a post with information on items like this.
Thanks for your help,
I seldom LOL but that was good for a real chuckle. Don't think my funny bone could take use'n em. However my little excavator has a cracked plastic bumper and I've been looking to upgrade. Maybe you'd be willing to work a deal?

Haha, glad I could give you a chuckle. They put a plastic bumper on an excavator??? That's sacrilegious!
Beemer, actually there's no bottoms in them, but that might be a good idea for a future upgrade if I run out of storage room!
