Twisted front diff
I found a 1976-77 front diff(disk brakes) to put on my 1973 4x4 Highboy frame. The price was right, free, but it does have a problem I need help with. It appears that the driver's side tube has come loose from the cast diff housing and has turned about 30 degrees forward. the diff looks straight from right to left(I even put a piece of pipe through it to check it), but the left spring seat and shock mount, and Knuckle are off. I've been to the local driveline shop and they said it's gone and don't mess with it. But I've had others tell me it can be fixed with a little patience and a good welder. Has anyone run accross this before?
