Hi all, I am looking at a 6.0L 2003 Crew Cab Lariat 4x4 with 68K miles. It was built in February 03.
The Oasis report shows problems starting in April 03, which included: intermittent stalling at stops, which was fixed with an ICP sensor. There was an engine miss on the highway, then the engine revved up and could not shut off. The diagnosis was a broken turbo shaft. Still in April 03, the next entry shows the complete engine being replaced.
Since then, the only entries showed a siezed rear u-joint and a failed EGR.
I have not driven this pickup yet. It is a repo at a bank, and I was wondering what I should offer if the test drive is all right. The interior and body are both in pretty good shape (a few scratches and dings, but no dents). The tires are fair. Any and all opinions are welcome. Kevin
Run don't walk in the opposite direction. There are far too many good deals on well maintained problem free trucks to take a chance over a couple of grand....Wink!!
Thanks for the replies. I was actually thinking around 16k, but I think someone else is pretty interested in it, so I will probably wait for the right truck. FWIW, if the truck wasn't a repo, would the new engine in a two month old truck scare anyone away? Thanks again, Kevin
